Pros
“Salary” while you work in your respective field ,however, be mindful, you were still considered a substitute, no matter where you are, which is fine, but you’re also paid as one which doesn’t make it a real salary. When you miss days, etc., your docked a full days pay as if you were a substitute. Additionally, whatever contract they have you signed when you start is nowhere near what you would get because before the year ends, you would be hired with a different school. The benefits are also useless. The worst part about this is the fact that they work with a lot of disadvantaged schools with poorly behaved students, teachers and admin. Scoot/teach start does seem to provide some sort of support but, for all the work you end up doing in this program for pennies, it’s not worth it and you can do it an easier way. Do not believe that everything is paid for in this program because eventually you will need to pay for certain things in which they never tell you in the beginning.
Cons
Low pay Unclear expectations Dishonest leadership Omission of vital information
