Pros

To brag that you work for “Lexus” ?

Cons

As a veteran in the tech industry this is by far the most toxic (and only toxic) company I’ve ever worked for. Amongst all the engineers I was the only female (much less senior), the only one with a family (much less with a child of special needs), and the only fully remote engineer. I was routinely harassed and singled out by my boss. For example he reprimanded me on my annual review for the appointments I had to take occasionally in order to take my son to his therapies- even though I communicated and cleared my time away well ahead of time and I was only away for an hour a week max. I was reprimanded for being “argumentative” while on the next breath I was reprimanded for being too quiet. I would be singled out and reprimanded for things the entire team would do. I was not “one of the boys” that ever got invited to play games with each other. I complained to HR with full documentation and witnesses. They told me that even though they have had many similar complaints about him, since he is a strong coder they want to keep him and otherwise ignored my (and others’) complaints. I’ve actually had to go into therapy for the treatment I’ve received from him and by extension the HR team and am still trying to heal from the damage they’ve caused.
