Pros
The only benefit I experienced within this position was learning about something I enjoyed (tea) and drinking said tea.
Cons
Everything else. The structure of sales, the sales pitch, the stress, the hawk-eyeing, the cold-blooded make-more-money attitude. We would get "graded" on our sales each week and if you got C's too often you were fired. Corporate showed up too often and watched us work like hawks. Lastly, there is no room for being a compassionate human. I was pushed into convincing an impoverished woman to purchase two tea sets instead of one for mentally handicapped twins that she cared for. She wanted to do something sweet for them for christmas and instead of two cups and one pot, I was told to convince her to get two complete sets to "avoid the two girls fighting". I felt so badly that I went home and broke down and promptly quit that job. It's human mentality and businesses like that that are destroying this world.
