Pros
• 29 years of innovating at the edge of nonprofits and technology • blend of social enterprise and passion for mission • culture of mutual respect • a lot of humor • constant positive feedback from the people and orgs we serve • sustainable (no small thing in today's nonprofit space) • successful, creative pivoting of business model in the face of evolving technology (from desktop software to the cloud) which directly impacted previous model • active concern for staff's career advancement and health • quite excellent pay and benefits in nonprofit context
Cons
It can be a confusing place. It's big for a nonprofit and because there is so much process and so many people touch decisions, sometimes we don't move as quickly as we'd like. For ten years we had co-CEOs and then we had 3-EOs. Quite a few people found the lack of a single leader a negative (although others liked the diversity of our CEO team). Now we have a single, very strong-minded CEO, with the plus/minus that goes with that (think: Jobs, Ellison, Bezos etc.)
