Pros

Most of the people are great, lifelong friendships have been formed here. Some of the contracts are really interesting. Dental plan (and only the dental plan) is pretty good compared to most others I have come across.

Cons

Cancerous and ineffective HR leadership, the person describing her as being part of a high school “clique” is extremely accurate, yet does not fully describe her incompetence and constant power plays in company politics. Decision making paralysis with the CEO being the only truly empowered person in the company to make decisions. This all appears to be completely as intended. Nickel and dime job offer process, where certain aspects are non-negotiable. Pay raises are appallingly low, and mid-level management has little to no impact on the whole process, as all compensation is decided on by the CEO personally. Ineffective review process with little to no accountability on goals. Favoritism is rampant – their “telecommute” policy is a great example of this, as it not fairly applied or even open to all employees. Favored employees have moved hundreds of miles away after they decide to work from home, while you have to go and sit in a hotel cubicle every day. Technology is way behind. Laptops and software systems are very old and not used by most employees. IT is hamstrung by the CEO to make any effective improvements. Business programs, like the “MTS Leveling” and “Transformation” programs grow in favor, but since the CEO never really supported them, they eventually disappear after employees put a lot of work into them. Employees who escape the company are routinely disrespected by executives in open conversations. No technical writers at all, and each employee at every level is expected to contribute to proposals in addition to their 40 billable hours per week. There is little to no support from the company in these writing efforts. The CEO avoids employee contact, and accomplishes this with his own private entrance to the HQ office. The single worst working environment I have ever experienced.

Pros

None - this employer is the absolute worst

Cons

Technatomy has been the most challenging employer I’ve worked for in my career. The culture often feels competitive in an unproductive way, where hard work isn’t always recognized unless you’re part of certain internal circles. When I was hired, I was told the contract would last five years with potential extensions. However, I observed colleagues being released at the end of each project, which contradicted the information initially provided. I was brought on as a Salesforce Release Manager but was reassigned to Microsoft-focused projects without prior notice or discussion. Had the expectations and role been communicated accurately upfront, I would not have accepted the position. I also experienced leadership behaviors that I found unprofessional and discouraging, including instances during team meetings that were inappropriate and unexpected. I would encourage others to carefully consider the available reviews and feedback before accepting a role with Technatomy, as my experience aligned closely with concerns shared by former employees.
