It’s not what it used to be - don’t work here until they change their ways. - Anonymous employee Techstars Employee Review

Pros

Name brand recognition, although now the market knows how bad things are at Techstars (and about other recent incidents at the company) and you actually have to defend your past work history. I guess it’s not a pro anymore.

Cons

Techstars is not the founder-first company it once was. High C-Suite and executive turnover, unhappy employees across nearly every department (take note of the only positive reviews on here being from Engineering or from an Associate on the program side, who is temporary and isn’t exposed to the internal nonsense), no career development (they’d rather hire externally than move you up), below average pay compared to the market, and no clear vision or goals. The fact that internal information is being leaked externally (see TechCrunch) and former employees are speaking out against the company (see LinkedIn) is a clear indication of how things are continuing to head downhill. Techstars no longer takes care of its employees. Firing people who have given their all at the company for 5+ years for no reason isn’t the “strategic shift” you think it is, when company morale moves to an all-time low (employee engagement survey results don’t lie) and KPIs stop being hit (data doesn’t lie) Fortunately, many of us who have seen through the BS are now leaving of our own accord. Techstars is not what it used to be, and I do not recommend working here unless you’re an engineer. The name brand recognition isn’t worth it, trust me.
