Pros
This job gave me good work-life balance. Of course, when there are deadlines you need to meet, you will likely work overtime, but working overtime on a regular basis is not expected. My team's management was especially great to work with and for. They provided good feedback and constructive criticism well. They were supportive and willing to do things differently or in a new way. I've almost never been told "no, you can't do that" or "well, this is the way we've always done things".
Cons
Promotions are time-based, not necessarily performance- or accomplishments-based. You will have to wait 6 months for a promotion even if you're only a few weeks short. Salary is on the low end. They like to say their benefits are good. Yes, the retirement is good, if you stay for at least 5 years. But the other benefits are average, at best. Number of seats to go to conferences are limited, so someone might not be able to go if they're late in requesting a seat.
