Pros

- Relaxed atmosphere: Managers allow flexible schedules for employees that are attending school. - Friendly Co-Workers: Everyone is friendly with each other, jovial atmosphere. - Competitive pay scale: most likely based on the cost of living for Ventura County, but the wages are better for comparable positions offered in Los Angeles County. - Great benefits: Blue Shield PPO, flexible spending accounts, Healthcare savings accounts, lots of options are offered.

Cons

-Silo effect among the divisions. No communication or sharing of resources among work groups. Many problems could be solved if program managers simply talked to each other. -"Us versus them" mentality amongst the divisions: some divisions have a "were better than you" attitude. -Smaller divisions have limited operating budget and no possibility for advancement: in some divisions, don't count on getting promoted unless someone leaves, dies, or retires. -Limited possibilities for intra-divisional transfers. Qualified employees that wish to transfer to a new open position within Teledyne are ignored in favor of new-hires off the street. -Some divisions are vulnerable to government sequestration (layoffs): 80% of Teledyne's divisions are almost entirely dependent on government funding.
