Pros

I loved the office setting and my coworkers were friendly. They offer free coffee and snacks. I took the job because I loved the mission.

Cons

I felt like I was always taking work home. I was working way more than 40 hrs a week, closer to 55-60. I did well during the training program, but what I had been taught during training was completely different from what my manager expected. I felt like the QA standards for every case were not consistent across the team. For example, when I was struggling, my manager had me work on a case with someone else from the QA team. Then when she did the QA for my work, she took off a bunch of points. When I explained that the individual from the QA team told me to complete the case the way I had, she gave me some BS and marked it wrong anyway. Overall, I don't recommend this position for someone looking to move up. This might be decent if you only plan on sticking around for a year or two. I only took this job because I was looking for something to do for my gap year before medical school. Though working here did make it very hard to focus on that. I feel like the management doesn't really care about your personal goals. They only care about how many cases you can finish, and will fire you if you don't do it to their standards. Standards which are still unclear to me to this day. Literally, its 3 strikes and you're fired. It feels like you're fighting to keep the job every day, and its the fear that drives you to do the work, not the fact that you can learn and grow from the work you do. I ended up leaving 6 months after I started to focus on medical school full time. It was the best decision ever because if I hadn't left, I wouldn't be holding an acceptance letter today and would have still been miserable there.

Pros

* The short seller report said the executives have a "history of promoting disruptive technology companies, cashing out early, and leaving public shareholders with losses or lackluster returns". Taking this into account as well as other factors, I was able to cash out RSUs at much higher share prices than the stock is currently trading at.

Cons

* The other reviews that mention bullying and verbal or psychological abuse are along the lines of what I saw. In addition, it seems to be a feature and not a bug. In other words, the people in charge seem to believe that people work better when being abused. Instead of using regular means of incentives or motivation like pay or enjoyable work environment, fear of abuse or losing one's job is the main tool of getting others to do work. If you're not at least enabling bullying and abuse, you'll always be on the outside and never trusted. * This company changed its name from Tempus Labs to Tempus AI in what seems to be a big grift. The stock jumped for a bit because Nancy Pelosi bought the stock (yay corruption). The engineering is a joke and often engineers have their performance judged by non technical managers who joined some lab company called Tempus Labs years ago. In all fairness, the people often in charge of engineering decisions didn't join a tech company so they're setup to fail.
