Cons
1. They will not give you what your team needs to succeed for whatever reason. Even if it is backed up by data. 2. If you are an out-of-the-box thinker, you do not belong here. Everything is dictated. You have no say in the company. Whatever they "think" is right, even though you have proof that it is wrong, they are still right. 3. The facade that everything is fine and dandy by the leadership team to the other departments and CEO is far from the truth. Everyone from the marketing team is fed up, frustrated, and downright angry. 4. Scheduled meetings are always half hour, an hour, or more late. No respect for everyone's time as long as it is convenient for them. 5. They always pull rank here whenever a group discussion is happening. 6. The marketing team here is different. It is ticket based. You do not really market anything to anyone, but rather cater to different clients and patients via tickets. The skillset required to manage such volume of tickets per team is lacking. Whenever we were stuck in a bind, no help or assistance were given. 7. Politics and favoritism are normal here. If you do not kneel before them and sing them praises, you will not be a priority. 8. Gossiping and discussing personal issues of other people in a team meeting. 9. Issues are swept under the rug instead of tackling it professional and fairly. 10. A lot of resignations were caused by poor management in the marketing team. Including mine. 11. In the marketing team, there are a lot of "bonding zoom meetings". This is where you all attend and play games. Sounds fun, right? Until they make the attendance compulsory during your rest days or before/beyond your shift. If you don't attend, you will get sanctioned. 12. Micromanaging as if we do not know what we are doing. 13. Leadership demands perfection. What's the point of putting KPIs and targets? 14. Reporting format gets changed every week/month. As if they do not know what they are looking for. There are several redundant reports per team which shows the exact same data. 15. Not all employees that should have returned to work during the pandemic went back. It was unfair especially to those who lives far from the office. 16. Appraisals and performance reviews are subjective because it is in a form of an essay. It should be based on metrics and targets. Employees always feel like they are in a court trial during these reviews/appraisals. It also depends on the mood of the leadership team. 17. A lot of OTs are being rendered by people who are asked to do something that is not within their job scope. Even during their rest days. 18. Either you will feel burnt out by management or by the lack of fulfilment on what you are doing. 19. Management abroad is awful. 20. Local management is dreadful.
