      The folks are friendly and the work is rewarding. There is no micromanaging of the job. The hours are flexible. The work is different and interesting.

      Cons

      Change does not come easy to the State. If various departments weren't so siloed a much more efficient operation could occur.

      Good work-life balance, great pay, excellent leadership and great people. TN State Government invests in employee development much more than any other company I have worked for.

      Sometimes things move slowly due to red-tape.

      8-4:30 M-F schedule Easy to take time off Front load PTO to make managing time off easier Hybrid work schedule

      Cons

      - Minimal accountability - Pay is well below national average - Pay for Performance standards are near impossible to “exceed expectations” - Double standards is the standard - Promotions are slow, so don’t expect to move up fast
