      Pros

      Good health benefits and good pension plan. Stable work environment. Plenty of vacation and sick leave. Some really dedicated staffers who work long hours with less than average pay.

      Cons

      Promotional opportunities are rare and in class raises are rarer. There are too many people who give state employees a bad name.

      8-4:30 M-F schedule Easy to take time off Front load PTO to make managing time off easier Hybrid work schedule

      - Minimal accountability - Pay is well below national average - Pay for Performance standards are near impossible to “exceed expectations” - Double standards is the standard - Promotions are slow, so don’t expect to move up fast
