The current management team has been there a long time and are set in their ways, which holds the company back. CEO is not a leader and is uninspiring. Brand management will come at the expense of good engineering at times. There is more work than people to do it. This leads to rushed work and unrealistic project schedules. Like another review, the schedules never seem to be correct and unreasonable amounts of time are spent on them. The 'guiding principles' can be used as a weapon against the employees who question.
