New grads asked to start while in school, no job security - TEMP Engineer I, Software Terumo Employee Review

Pros

In general, seems like not too stressful of a work environment. Will pay you 1.5x for overtime if you are asked to work it.

Cons

New grads are asked to start working part time while still in school as a means for the manager to evaluate them and determine whether or not they will get hired into a full time position. They claim that they will ensure that your priority is to be a student until you graduate, but then do the opposite when they force you to skip school in order to attend training sessions. There is no job security for after graduation, thus you will face the dilemma of whether you should continue job hunting, or count on being happy at Terumo and Terumo being happy to hire you full time. Terumo does not provide details about their full time compensation package until they intend to actually compensate you as a full time employee, thus not allowing you to compare with other companies' offers. After graduation, you are asked to work 40 hours a week as just an hourly employee indefinitely, until a full time position opens up. Terumo is not open to negotiation for anything, from start date (so apply only when you are ready to start working) to salary.
