Pros
Good company with great benefit, awesome coworkers, good travel opportunities fully paid travel, gas reimbursement or work vehicle from the warehouse
Cons
Awful management they act like everyone’s friends then sit in the office and gossip about all of their hardworking guys out on roofs while they’re sitting in an office using the company cc for lunch. They don’t give raises or promotions but they do give every reason in the world not to. “Hiring freeze, layoff frenzy, you got the highest performance review score in this shop, our efficiency is great but our company’s value is down, i can’t handle this right now or I’ll have a panic attack” they literally lie to you and tell you they’ll give you a raise, you bring them 5-6 offer letters from competitor companies offering $8-$9 more and they string you along telling you that they’ll pay you that until all of a sudden all of your offers expire and then they don’t want to pay you. Everything and anything they tell you GET IN WRITING because they miraculously “forget” everything they promise you after you do everything they ask - travel to Texas for 3 weeks 4 months after having your first child, traveling to California for weeks only to have the hotel they put you up in be in the ghetto so every night the hotel parking lot is burglarized and all of the car windows including the rentals all of us Tesla employees got were smashed and robbed of all belongings, then not having a person contact back home when these things happened, or when we got stuck in California during Covid because flights back were all canceled for weeks and nobody from management back home answered their phones. Surprisingly unorganized for such a big corporate company. Elon himself is the man, tech genius, unreal entrepreneur, great business mogul, and a genuine leader. However all of the managers in the solar department are incompetent idiots who have never swung a hammer or stepped foot on a roof in their lives but for some reason think they know how to do the job better than guys with 10+ years experience in the field. All in all Tesla the company is a GREAT company to work for, the Marlborough solar office is GOD AWFUL and I would avoid at all costs unless you like being berated on a daily basis, lied to your face by management, overworked and underpaid, and managers who act like they care about you only to talk trash about you while your out hard at work on a solar roof in the snow and they’re in a dry warm, safe office.
