Pros
I was initially excited to work here. I have always admired Tesla vehicles. The benefits are decent and that facilities are nice to work in. I also appreciated that they didn't force overtime. In at 9, out at 5:30 promptly.
Cons
I could tell very quickly that morale was not good in a lot of departments. My dept lacked proper training. Training was typically one week long, but the majority of time was spent going over admin stuff (benefits, schedules, how awesome Tesla is, etc.) Very little attention was given to job expectations other than vague cliches. The work was quite arbitrary in nature, so when you asked two different people to explain, I always got a different answer. They would say to make the most educated guess when things were ambiguous. But you always got demerits (minor or major critical) anyway. My boss' boss would spend a couple of hours everyday pulling people in to tell them what they were doing wrong. I was told in the same sitting that "Tesla values you and wants you to succeed", but also "If you don't improve, you will be put on a PIP". If you feel that a very hectic pace, rampant micromanagement, a plethora of ambiguity, and a workplace that doesn't care about its employees, then this might be the job for you!
