Pros
Excellent benefits package, affordable insurance, excessive amounts of PTO
Cons
Constant hiring freeze even though every department is understaffed and stressed, including medical staff, which is an extreme safety issue. Trying to take shortcuts at every turn at the expense of the patients who just want adequate care. It's a lawsuit waiting to happen. Budgets are cut in half, can't even find trash bags because they don't want to order supplies and then they blame the poor housekeeping staff for over using them. Lots of layoffs recently, managers and long term employees have been fired due to department redistributions. If someone quits, they just eliminate the position instead of replacing them, forcing everyone to do double/triple the work. Are looking to outsource more and more and are willing to sell their employees like slaves to these new companies with no severance or chance at unemployment. Don't let all these nice reviews fool you, the hallways are filled with nothing but panicked whispers from the staff about whose next to have their jobs eliminated. I've never seen morale so low and people who have been there for a long time are scrambling to retire before they can be laid off. They don't call people "patients" anymore, they call them "consumers" because their only concern is money now. It used to be worth the stress, but not anymore!! Don't work there, don't even use their services. Just do yourself a favor and head to Baylor.
