Pros
The insurance is good, and the campus is very pretty. The university also encourages being healthy and allows time each day for staff members to use for exercise.
Cons
Many staff members have been with the university for long periods of time and are both resistant to technology and changes needed to keep a business running and spur productivity. Younger staff members are often treated poorly, and new ideas or ways to improve productivity through technology are often ignored, specifically in departments with little student involvement (especially in the university administration departments). Younger employees are treated as if they are threats to more seasoned employees in some offices, which creates tension and discord in the office. Because of these and many additional issues, the younger employee turnover rate is higher.
