Business Outlook
Pros
Extremely low threshold to getting a job. Boss who doesn't know much about programming, so you can BS and not work and get away with it. Also, semi-flexible hours.
Cons
Good old boys club. Criminally underpay programmers (low bar to entry means there are a lot of programmers who don't know what they are doing. This leads to higher scrap, lower productivity, less efficient programs, etc. and this means the execs view all programmers as necessary idiots. This leads to lower pay, bad working conditions, and low bonuses.) The good programmers would be massively benefitted by unionizing.
