Pros
- Boston Beer moves fast. It's not a company that has analysis paralysis (or really makes that many data driven decision, even though we'd like to do think we do) - what that means is that it doesn't take that much time to see what you were a part of come to life on shelf. - Fun and casual culture - Have appreciated that they make it clear that you don't need to drink to be part of the culture. Sure, there are boston beer products everywhere, but my managers and Beacon has made it clear that you don't need to imbibe to work here. - DTU culture means that there are opportunities to ask leadership hard questions (sometimes inappropriate, but they provide the forum for it) - Jim Koch is a down to earth, lovely human being that may wax poetic for some time, but is endearing.
Cons
- ELT gets in the weeds. Super in the weeds. What that means is that you won't feel empowered to make decisions. Small decisions (things that wouldn't ever even be seen by ELT in other companies) gets made and floats down. It may potentially be fine if you are an IC, but it's difficult for managers who manage teams. - Reactive. This isn't a company with a steadfast vision. We are reactive to BBD, consultants and small players that come on shelf.
