Food and beverage department is run by poor management with old boys club mentality - Bartender The Breakers Employee Review

Pros

Other employees that work at lower level are typically amazing people to work with.

Cons

They use racism and sexism in their hiring process. They try to make everyone a robot, and if you do not fit under their level of control, you will not last long. I cannot speak for other departments, but the food and beverage team is managed by a group of guys who have been at The Breakers a long time. They do not like change or creativity and just want everyone to do as they are told. Often you do not get the break that is required by law, and do not expect to have any job security or positive reinforcement here. If you are just looking for a place to make quick cash and get out, without actually investing yourself in it, than it might be an ok place to work... as long as you have a high BS tolerance.

Pros

The training and preparation for the job was very organized and went smoothly with a great team that was very welcoming and helpful in the process.

Cons

There’s a lot to learn if it is an unfamiliar job but they have a good system and training to avoid uncertainty.

Pros

Moving from a different country and I got the opportunity to work here feels like a great accomplishment. Everyone in my department is like family they’re so welcoming and supportive.

Cons

Long working hours that makes you feel like you spend most of your days at work. But getting 3 days off is a plus.
