Pros
Aesthetically beautiful environment to work in. Expansive, world class property right on the Atlantic ocean. On site parking for employees unlike most Palm Beach area luxury resorts. 20% service charge gives good money during season ONLY.
Cons
Bait and switch mentality. They claim to be 'a family with little turnover, people stay with The Breakers for years and years'. Baloney! My first week I saw a wave of staff leaving with a new herd of hires coming in and this continued every month or so. The environment is very clique-y and phony. Too many chiefs (with little power and even less to do) walk around badgering staff to maintain psychotic smiles painted on their faces even when the place is dead - unless of course you're a manager's pet, then you can keep your resting bit*h face until a guest arrives. Even the managers lament their lack of power because they overstaff managers as well, assigning them singular duties like being in charge of scheduling, as reason for their manager's title. Consistently overstaff shifts regardless of season - why not at $3.02 p/hour - so in the off season you are obligated to full time hours with nothing to do and essentially no money for it. A lot of servers leave in the off season to work elsewhere and actually earn a living. They don't feed staff - who most times eat off of guests unfinished plates. GROSS! They don't launder staff uniforms.
