It's a good place to start - Process Development Associate I The Broad Institute Employee Review

Pros

I honestly had a great time working at Broad at the Genomics Platform. I started off in COVID diagnostics and moved into a different team in Genomics Platform. I honestly learned a lot and got more familiar with various lab techniques. My purpose was to just essentially learn as much as I can, and apply it elsewhere, and it really helped in that department. It was a pretty relaxed, and the work was not that hard to pick up. Work/Life balance was immaculate for me because I learned time-efficiency, and finished everything very quickly.

Cons

This applies to the Genomics Platform: - Good place to start, but not a good place to stay long term (if you're looking for career development). Office politics can play a lot into promotions, and it's more about who likes you rather than who created a bigger impact in terms of lab operations. - The pay is very below industry standards, and living in the Boston is very expensive.

Pros

Benefits, such as PTO and health, are fantastic.

Cons

A pro and a con are there are rarely set ways to do things. You can pave your own way, but others could be paving a way to the same destination and just creating more paths when it would be better to work together.

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We love that you feel the autonomy to pave your own way here, and recognize that also can present its own challenge with duplicating efforts.
