Great Work environment, Good Benefits, Hard to move up - Process Development Associate II The Broad Institute Employee Review

Pros

Most lab managers have fostered a pretty great work environment. You're allowed to complete your work on your own time and business so long as everything is getting done correctly and on time. At least in my case, hard work wasn't rewarded with even more work. Most managers are very understanding about PTO and sick time. Fantastic Work/Life balance

Cons

Hard to move up. There are a lot of people stuck at this level because the senior level positions are filled and they've been around forever. Unless you really stand out, or a position above you is vacated, a promotion is tough to come by. Pay is ok, but definitely could be better.

Pros

Benefits, such as PTO and health, are fantastic.

Cons

A pro and a con are there are rarely set ways to do things. You can pave your own way, but others could be paving a way to the same destination and just creating more paths when it would be better to work together.
