Pros
Stable company that has never had lay-offs. Most roles have good work-life balance. Some very nice people to work with.
Cons
They brag about their stock options for employees, but you only make a lot of money if you stay there getting underpaid for years and years. $CINF stock is a dividend stock, so most profits go to shareholders rather than employees. Employee bonuses are barely based on performance and almost entirely based on the stock's performance. Lots of people have been there for a very long time and are resistant to change. While working at CIC I felt like I was dragging the company into the future. Once you meet all criteria for promotion, or even go above and beyond that criteria, expect a 6+ month wait for "processing", and promotions can only be granted at specific times every 3 months. Management is very resistant to remote work and VERY hands on if you're in an entry-level role, feels like having an extra parent at times.
