Pros

Free Clorox products are sometimes distributed. Good healthcare coverage.

Cons

No promotion opportunities - entry level roles might as well be permanent since years can pass with no openings in Alpharetta for the next grade level. Many who currently have these roles do not seem interested in advancing roles for themselves, leaving no vacancy for those at the bottom. Completely tone deaf C-suite leadership, especially the CEO, who's pep talks usually include not-so-thinly-veiled suggestions that you should work harder (in the name of The Company) and be grateful to work here. Lower leadership exhibits poor managerial skills and breaks down easily under stress, which leads to pointless work and wasted time - leaving it highly questionable how some team leaders ended up in their position. WFH benefits were revoked after years of strong performance, with employees being told they must now commute to the office regardless of distance or other factors. Management used a heavy hand to impose this framework citing the need for "faster results" with no empathy for those they're relying on. Morale is low as a result, even among tenured employees. Entry level experience in logistics puts your understanding of this role higher than it needs to be, but that will be wasted as your experience will not help you advance in your career at Clorox. As others have mentioned, you need to be "the chosen one" to advance here - sadly, those requirements are not clear to me.

The Clorox Company Response

Thank you for providing this feedback, which we’re sharing with leaders. We want all our people to feel like they have the tools they need to succeed in their current roles as well as the opportunity to grow at Clorox. We’re disappointed this isn’t your experience. Regarding the return to office, we designed our hybrid model in 2021 around the idea that there’s value in coming together some of the time. This remains true today. Most of our nonproduction roles are designated hybrid, which means people work from home two days a week. If you’re willing to share more details to help us continue to improve, we’d welcome it at people@clorox.com.

Pros

Unlimited PTO: Flexible paid time off, subject to manager approval. Location: A better location for a CPG company. People: Friendly and smart coworkers.

Cons

Training and development: Training quality lags best-in-class CPG companies (e.g., P&G), where many senior marketing hires developed their foundational capabilities. The culture also places less emphasis on career development, mentorship, and internal talent growth. Compensation: Salary is not competitive relative to the Bay Area cost of living, and medical insurance options are expensive, making it difficult for many employees to build a long-term career in the region without external financial support. Career progression: Limited opportunities for advancement due to the organizational structure and low turnover in senior leadership. Technology and tools: Systems, technology, and ways of working lag modern standards despite being headquartered in the world's leading innovation hub. Culture: A risk-averse culture can slow decision-making and innovation.
