Pros
Weekly Pay Cast Member privileges with the Walt Disney Company
Cons
The Pay- Gave employees a raise in 2022 to take it away quietly in 2023 making lunches mandatory an hour each day. All employees, on average, lose up to $1000 per month with this change. Random Policy Changes that are NOT Enforced- Policy changes are by verbal notice and not written down anywhere including on the company website. The last company website policy change was in 2016. Other cons for working for the Orlando Warehouse are: -You CAN NOT look at your schedule on the clock (which is on a bulletin board and will change without you being given noticed) -Clock into work and put your lunch in the fridge/need to use the bathroom in an emergency situation. You must do all of this before clocking in. -Temps vs actual staff follow two separate rules- Temps are given much more freedom and chances to correct behavior and fixing mistakes vs staff members who are written up even when they do not qualify for it with the point system. -Temps are the future!- More temps working for this warehouse than actual team members more and more. Offering full time positions to temps who do not contribute much to the team, and are policy breakers constantly (being on their phone, walking away for long periods of time, not pulling their weight with workload). -If you say no to a task (such as picking non stop when no one else is given item lists to pick for the store) you are given up to 5X more work than your coworkers the entire day, or/and the entire week! While being treated poorly by being looked down upon by certain individual in leadership. -No Teamwork Allowed!- There is a culture here now that we are not a team thanks to what management said to us one day. If someone is given a task they are able to do it themselves even when there is no other work to be done for the day. Management above team members- Management can be approved for outings from upper management where they all go and experience something together. Team Members are given the day off and do not get to be part of a potential team building activity. Example of this is, Management goes to a rival theme park and tells the staff NO ONE will be approved to do anything else for the remainder of the year. Shows that management only looks out for themselves. - Big Ethics Violations by Certain Members Of Leadership- Whether it's changing the schedule and making it easier for management to work/take a vacation/ deciding you're off when you were scheduled to come in tomorrow whenever you want, to telling staff with a serious health concern that "health documents can be forged" so they do not believe team member called out legitimately, and management picking favorites and not treating everyone as one big team. There are some in leadership who are skating by with some ethics red flags and it's their way or you're gone. DEI- The type of employee that is hired promotes thuggish behavior and usually quits in a day or so, or is fired within 3 months. Hiring the same face, but different name is hurting this warehouse no matter what kind of bonus the company gets.
