Pros

Work Environment - I've been able to develop strong relationships with nearly every team member I've worked with during my time at Dedham, and found many mentors & close friends throughout the process. I have always found that team members & managers are intelligent & respect each others ideas regardless of position or tenure (very few "egos"), leading to collaborative and open discussions on all of my projects. It also helps that I enjoy spending time with my coworkers (I am still close with many that have left). The hours can be long but I agree with a previous post, what you put in really is what you get out. Professional Development Opportunities - There are very, very few places that would have enabled me to develop as quickly as I have at Dedham. I do honestly believe that it is a meritocracy, and additional responsibilities and growth opportunities are always available for the taking. Whenever I achieve some level of comfort in my day-to-day role, it is not long before I am taking on new responsibilities and challenged to learn new skills. It has been a lot of work, but the continued investment & support from upper management has matched my effort. It is an excellent place to grow. Projects & Exposure - The project work is very interesting. If you read anything about the specialty therapeutics space, the projects span many of the exciting market dynamics and products that are being reported on. Most of my exposure to clients has been collaborative in nature, which I find fulfilling. The recent focus on further developing the company's infrastructure (mentor program, building out management team, etc.) has been a big step forward.

Cons

As mentioned above, there is great opportunity for professional development, but it takes a lot of effort & time. There may be times when you have to actively seek out advice & guidance. The work across projects can be demanding. Some of this is also part of the growing pains for a relatively small firm. (It's also consulting, so the hours can be long regardless). There are pros of larger companies (name recognition, an official incoming analyst "class", etc.) that you won't find

Pros

Great exposure to variety of work subject matter, clients, strategy projects and leadership within project work after longer tenure. Good environment with smart motivated colleagues

Cons

Project experience varies with middle manager that you get staffed with, as some are fantastic, have great social/managing skills and enough experience to mentor or collab productively on slides/insights. Some simply don't.

Pros

Great client work and exposure to market access landscape, will set you up for great exits long term. Internal growth opps aplenty, but do require being strategic with projects/teammates you get placed on. ~2-3 projects at a time. Projects are mostly well paced, spread out, manageable 75% of the year.

Cons

Highly demanding work in fourth quarter, >70 hour weeks with >3 projects all asking for bandwidth. Can feel like a collegiate environment because everyone is similar in age which is great but... seniority presence feels like its missing.
