Good people, poor growth potential - DM/PM The Emmes Group Employee Review

Pros

My manager is great, I love my project and it's mission. If I want to take time off, it's almost always ok. The ability to work from home is wonderful.

Cons

The turn-over is atrocious and stresses the bandwidth of the people who stay. DMs stay for 1-2 years and then leave because there is no real growth potential for them, or at least communicated to them. Most CROs have this issue, but other CROs accept it as a fact and have stronger work flow procedures than Emmes does. Too much knowledge is kept in peoples heads, which makes it difficult for new employees when they are learning and trying to become self-sufficient.

Some roles allowed to work mostly or fully remote

Cons

Micromanagement culture. Lack of professional boundaries. Must be willing to work nights and weekends. Gossip, oversharing and non constructive criticism about colleagues and clients. Poor compensation and benefits. Observable differential treatment of employees based on cultural background or personal characteristics. High turnover. Low morale.
