Pros

None really come to mind, this job was a complete waste of time.

Cons

Title says it all. I've never worked with such immature and insurance illiterate managers. My natural disposition is the learn as much as possible from every avenue, I can honestly vouch that I learned ZERO from a coverage standpoint even though I was handling large capacity renewals. KPIs are a constantly moving goal post. If you have an Irish manager, I am so sorry....insurance employers are not all the same. You can do better for yourself. People on the team with >30 yrs experience and with low titles, very little movement career growth wise. I did learn how antiquated (dos) systems. Hartford made acquisitions without really getting their book, employees and procedures. Fixing their poor decision making fell on the bottom of the barrel. Most other departments that we would assist routing agent requests would more often than not be annoyed for not knowing their personal preferences or departmental nuances. Procedures are laughable and inadequate. But hey if you like having a constant headache, don't mind jeopardizing your WFH status, don't care about educational benefits, low level of actual work engagement, this place is for you. Enjoy your long commute into work. Most folks aren't really insurance professionals in the operations department. Only real promotion on the team was a young guy with low level experience but got in good with his fellow male underwriters. I know this is typical behavior in all financial institutions but it was so obvious it drug down team morale. At least make him learn the basics like we were required. Fake liberal vibes, it's all for appearance sake.

Pros

Great benefits, amazing PTO starting off, company promotes inclusivity and promotion from within.

Cons

The leadership structure seems too complicated. Soooo many team leads. Certain lines of business do not have options for switching teams if you do not get along with your manager.
