Pros
Long legacy started by Milton Hershey. Every candy bar you buy helps support the Milton Hershey School for disadvantaged children. Brand name resonates on a resume.
Cons
Over the years, Hershey had grown very top heavy. Minimal pro motions within, tendency is to hire from he outside vs train/groom current employees. This can lead to constant disruptive working conditions as newcomers aren't properly trained in the Hershey culture, vision, and history. It's a shame to watch a company you believed in turn into a revolving door with disconnected leadership. When a company is more concerned with profits (stemming from sales and Headcount reductions) over people (like employees and customers), and pleasing Wall Street Analysts, they tend to lose sight of why they are here in the first place. Execuatives are woe fully out of touch with how things are done, by whom, and why. They rely on outside contractors to help them understand how the company works. I believe there's a lot of mis-management at the very top by those here for a paycheck and not the legacy we stood for.
