Strong Recruiters, But Leadership and Culture Need Significant Improvement - Senior Executive Recruiter The Intersect Group Employee Review

Pros

A few talented recruiters and support staff who genuinely want to succeed. Opportunity to work on a variety of clients and searches. Strong earning potential if you're able to navigate the environment and see past all of the chaos.

Cons

The culture has changed significantly over time. The combination of private equity ownership and constant pressure for short-term results has created an environment where metrics often take priority over people and long-term success. Turnover is exceptionally high, making it difficult to build stable teams or maintain continuity with clients and candidates. It often feels like you're constantly onboarding new colleagues while saying goodbye to experienced performers. Micromanagement is another major challenge. Rather than empowering experienced recruiters to operate autonomously, there is an overwhelming focus on activity tracking, reporting, and oversight. For seasoned producers, this creates an environment built on control instead of trust. Leadership has also become a concern. Expectations frequently shift, communication can be inconsistent, and decisions sometimes feel reactive rather than strategic. The result is uncertainty, low morale, and limited confidence in long-term direction. Many talented recruiters leave not because of the work itself, but because of how the organization is managed. Overall, if you thrive in a highly structured, metrics-driven environment with constant oversight, this may be a fit. If you're looking for a culture built on trust, stability, leadership development, and long-term investment in employees, there are likely better options.

Pros

I had a truly positive onboarding experience with The Intersect Group and can confidently say the process exceeded my expectations. From the very beginning, the recruiters & operations coordinators were professional, responsive, and genuinely supportive. Communication was clear, timely, and consistent, which made the entire onboarding process feel smooth and well-organized. They took the time to answer questions, provide guidance, and ensure I felt prepared every step of the way. What stood out most was the level of care and professionalism shown throughout the process. Starting a new role can naturally bring some anxiety, and the team at The Intersect Group did an excellent job of easing those concerns through transparency, encouragement, and follow-through. I’m grateful for the experience and would highly recommend The Intersect Group to anyone seeking a recruiting partner that values people, communication, and professionalism.

Cons

The onboarding process moved quickly, which required prompt attention.

Pros

- Weekly payroll was processed accurately and on time. - Initial onboarding process was straightforward. - Payroll staff were courteous and responsive when answering questions. - Opportunities with reputable clients and recognizable companies.

Cons

Communication and consultant support significantly declined after onboarding. Throughout my long-term assignment, there were very few proactive check-ins from my recruiter, and communication was largely reactive unless I initiated it. Performance feedback from my client was not consistently shared with me, despite receiving positive feedback throughout my assignment. There was also a transition between recruiter contacts during my contract, which appeared to create additional communication gaps. The biggest disappointment involved PTO. Consultants become eligible to accrue PTO only after a six-month waiting period, but I was never notified when I became eligible or that I had begun accruing a balance. I only learned I had accrued approximately 20 hours of PTO two days before my assignment ended, after I had already provided nearly two weeks' notice. By then, there was no realistic opportunity to use the time before my assignment concluded, and because unused PTO is not paid out upon termination, I forfeited approximately $1,400 in gross wages. While I understand the written policy was included in onboarding materials, I believe benefits that begin after a waiting period should be proactively communicated when consultants become eligible—not left for consultants to discover on their own months later. Compared with other staffing agencies I've worked with, I found the consultant communication, benefits administration, and overall support to be noticeably weaker.
