Pros

Gain a lot of experience in a short period of time. A good place for new tech.

Cons

High volume and stressful workload. More than 10h/day work schedule. When study activity goes wrong the lower level (RA) is the one who will be blamed. Management is a mess even they're trying hard to change. Scheduling is bias because only one scheduler and a lot of physical work besides study activities like lift more than 25 Lbs., and 30 min daily cleaning. The team has high percentages of injury rate, especially for wrist and back. As a RA, you're a janitor, facility technician and animal care technician. Work load and duty should be identified more clearly and specified. Hire more technicians to avoid the stressful workload and high turnover rate. Scientifically schedule work calendar. Be more specific about work responsibility. Let RA focuses more on studies and create more value to the company. Reduce workload of the injured employee and try to have serious proper training to help changing the injury rate.

Pros

Good pay and benefits are decent

Cons

Long commutes with tight time accountability due to newer rules. No more leniency for weather or traffic related tardiness that is common in Maine. Constantly changing rules and expectations are making the job impossible. Failure to meet new expectations lead to no finishes or raises or tuition reimbursement. Forced overtime in Ellsworth location with so.e employees being sent from Bar Harbor to cover. Seems like a sinking ship and I would not recommend anyone I liked for a job here.
