      Pros

      The compensation and benefits at the Lab really do stand out. There are robust health benefits that even cover things like acupuncture; the retirement plan provides up to a 10% match if you contribute 5% of your own pre-tax salary, and then even more perks like fitness centers, free services like the Calm app, and more. It doesn't feel like a company putting together an obligatory benefits package, but one that actually helps its employees get ahead.

      Cons

      The commute is long for those who can't afford to live near campus. Housing is hard to find locally.

      Pros

      Good pay and benefits are decent

      Cons

      Long commutes with tight time accountability due to newer rules. No more leniency for weather or traffic related tardiness that is common in Maine. Constantly changing rules and expectations are making the job impossible. Failure to meet new expectations lead to no finishes or raises or tuition reimbursement. Forced overtime in Ellsworth location with so.e employees being sent from Bar Harbor to cover. Seems like a sinking ship and I would not recommend anyone I liked for a job here.
