Pros

I had a positive experience working at The Nest. The environment is very hands-on and fast-paced, which keeps the day engaging and fulfilling. Working with the children is the most rewarding part of the job, as you get to build relationships and support their early development. The staff is generally supportive, and there are opportunities to gain valuable experience in early childhood education. The job also helps you develop important skills like patience, communication, and classroom management. There is also support for professional growth, including opportunities like earning a CDA credential. Overall, it’s a great place for anyone who enjoys working with children and wants experience in a structured preschool setting.

Cons

No cons that I can think of as of right now

Pros

The Highlights The "Nest Egg" Reward Program: One of the unique perks employees frequently praise is the internal rewards system. Teachers earn "eggs" (which translate dollar-for-dollar) for good performance, which can be cashed out for Amazon purchases or major gift cards. Paid Time Off & Benefits: Compared to small, privately owned daycares, The Nest generally offers a more structured and generous PTO policy, including separate sick time and vacation hours, along with standard corporate health benefits. Supplies and Environment: Because it is a heavily funded corporate entity, centers are typically bright, aesthetically modern, and well-stocked with play-based curriculum supplies so teachers aren't paying out of pocket for classroom materials.

Cons

Struggles Management Disconnect: This is the single biggest deciding factor. While corporate rolls out great tools on paper, local management can make or break the job. Common complaints include directors playing favorites, lack of support during high-behavior days, and a feeling of being micromanaged. Strict Corporate Policies: Unlike casual, independent centers, there is a strict dress code (often requiring specific uniform shirts, aprons, or solid scrub pants—no hoodies or leggings). Some teachers also note that corporate design rules make classrooms feel overly uniform, leaving less room for personal room decoration. The Ratio & Burnout Grind: Because corporate metrics strictly track hours to avoid paying overtime, staff are sometimes sent home early if numbers drop, or conversely, find themselves shuffling kids between rooms to stay within state-mandated ratios when short-staffed.
