Pros

NECC offers a lot of trainings and there offer great benefits and a lot of vacation time.

Cons

To put it simply, NECC is arrogant. There are a lot of qualified people working at the New England Center for Children, but the focus is more on the staff than the students. It is a very competitive environment and is packed full of people trying to stand out. I've worked at several places that specialize in ABA and I've never seen so many unhappy employees.

Pros

The kids are the best part. It's good for those who have little to no experience. They pay for a masters degree.

Cons

Lead Teachers have no training in managing people. The lead teacher sits at the desk all day on their phone, eating and micromanaging. It's not really a school schedule. You must be present for 8 hours even if the kids are not there, and you have no other work to do. You get only 2 random weeks off in the summer. The pay is not worth it.

Our lead teachers have many administrative responsibilities, working with each student's team of clinicians, parents, and liaisons that may not be visible to other staff.
