Thank you for writing about your experience. You are correct that we have specific protocols in place. To help our students achieve as much success and independence as possible, we only use methods that we know are effective, methods that have been developed from our 42 years of experience and educational research using ABA - the only scientifically validated method for effective autism intervention. Just as a medical school requires significant training and protocols to be followed, we at NECC follow the same principles. Protocols are in place to ensure that only those with the most expertise in behavioral intervention make changes to behavioral guidelines. And protocols also exist to ensure safety. If protocols aren't followed we meet with staff to address it - because staff and student safety are paramount. Teachers work hard and sometimes long hours. This consistency in staffing ensures students receive the best services available, in both the classroom and the residences. To help offset the workload, we provide 5 weeks of vacation from hire date.
