Pros
The kids are challenging but working with others who are passionate and care for the students' well-being and growth is inspiring and gratifying. The paid vacations are a nice perk and the masters programs are a good deal. The work the school does in general for children with autism is amazing though. The research is very helpful and this school is great for autistic children with severe behaviors.
Cons
The superiors have no idea or don't seem to remember what is like to work directly with children with difficult behaviors. They are all quick to judge and unhelpful. There isn't a transparent method for promotions but incompetent people are promoted only because the superiors favor them. The masters program is also disorganized and it is frustrating to graduate when you want because they try to extend the program long enough to force you to stay at NECC.
