Pros

Opportunities for overtime with good rates which supplemented my income and allowed me to make the salary I had at the end of the year.

Cons

Working long shifts, ranging from 10 to 14 hours at least twice a week. Understaffed supervisee positions which resulted in having to fulfill job responsibilities outside of my job description. Dangerous environment due to the nature of the company combined with severe understaffed teams that resulted in work injuries. Expectation to pick up overtime as a supervisor to make up for open shifts in teacher positions.

Pros

The kids are the best part. It's good for those who have little to no experience. They pay for a masters degree.

Cons

Lead Teachers have no training in managing people. The lead teacher sits at the desk all day on their phone, eating and micromanaging. It's not really a school schedule. You must be present for 8 hours even if the kids are not there, and you have no other work to do. You get only 2 random weeks off in the summer. The pay is not worth it.

Our lead teachers have many administrative responsibilities, working with each student's team of clinicians, parents, and liaisons that may not be visible to other staff.
