      Pros

      Good work / life balance and training. Our department (statistics) did a good job of designing GTA roles so they weren't too much work, and they had a nice training program for GTAs. The undergrad students were also pretty easy to work with.

      Cons

      None that I can think of. Just keep in mind that your mileage may vary depending on the department you work for. OSU is a big school.

      Lots of hands on experience. Plenty of valuable guidance available to you at all times.

      Cons

      The pay seems low for how technical the work actually is.

      Pros

      100% subsidized health and dental insurance. Retirement plans through OPERS.

      Cons

      The pay should be higher, can't make changes to retirement withholdings after 90 days.
