      Pros

      Very experienced and skilled senior leadership. Competitive salary even though it was a public university. Excellent health and other benefits.

      Cons

      Sometimes the workplace could get a little slow paced as compared to a corporate. The office spaces weren't great. Don't expect swanky conference rooms, and suites in a multi storied skyscrapers. Parking was not free.

      Great work life balance and accessible management

      Cons

      There are not many cons to working with the university except the pay was slightly lower than other competitive wages.

      Many resources available for various types of studies

      Cons

      Unless your PI is tapped into the research community, the resources are spread out and difficult to find. The overall support from the University to PIs is limited. Those individuals in positions of authority are more concerned with their own optics than with supporting those who need it.
