Pros
Most employees and officers are great to work with.
Cons
Nepotism and inflated egos by some officers and divisional commanders do exist. The Salvation Army does great work, and most employees are wonderful with but since there are multi-generations of officers and their kids working there those officers sometimes take it for granted and act like "divas". All officers are legally ordained ministers and get all of their expenses and educations paid for, and I have seen some divisional commanders (Lt. Col, Majors, etc) act like kings and throwing fits. The higher the position, the more they are provided. Most of them will claim they don't make much money and their wives don't get paid, but in the case a divisional commander they may have both a home locally and a vacation home at a camp.
