Pros

The employees that work at the standard are hard working and dedicated and literally give their all to the company. Sometimes to a fault. I worry about the employees that are working hard at their jobs that are possibly being set up to be let go or have their jobs pulled out from underneath them when they least expect it. This is the standards method of getting rid or talented hard working employees that have thoughts or opinions.

Cons

Future job seekers. When you see a company that has a lot of job postings you have to ask yourself, why is that? Why would a company that everyone is giving 5 stars to and saying "Great place to work, Great opportunities" have so many job openings? It's not because of job growth. The Standard just moved a large group of their employees out of one of the large office buildings in downtown and into the already existing center building that they already occupy however they still have openings. They also had to opened a location in Virginia because they couldn't get anyone to apply for jobs locally. Lots and lots of turnover which results in the existing employees being overworked. The only ones that that are staying at The Standard are those long term employees that are sticking it out until they retire or people who have worked there so long they have accrued lots of vacation time and don't want to loose it. When you ask some employees why are you still there if you hate your job and they will say, some of us don't have a choice. Which means they are only staying simply because they've accrued so much time off. Also, sometimes you hear about donations The Standard makes to charities. That is money comes from the employees for jean days. The employees have to pay to dress business casual.

Pros

Good company with generally good leadership. Good salaries and benefits.

Cons

Company is going through growing pains with recent acquisitions. What made the company unique and close is now a thing of the past. New processes are rolled out with an expectation of efficiencies and savings but they don't match the reality.
