Pros
Was the best place to work - from publisher down to sales assistants. Salary, benefits and growth was exceptional. Managers were available & helped - compensation based on sales - was fair. The more you brought in, the more you earned.
Cons
Unfortunately, after Mr. Bartner left ( & passed away) the moral of the company sharply declined. The advent of the internet and sharp declinein advertising revenue blindsided the company. There were no clear leaders to steer the company. Instead of keeping NJ.com in-house they started another company and did not incorporate the online business until it was too late - account executives were manadated to have at least 35 active accounts every month - regardless of the revenue that was brought in. The moral of the company, after buy-outs and lay-offs is dismall.
