I signed on with SSG out of grad school because they promised to provide a lot of support and guidance, but that didn't turn out to be my experience. At first, I had a clinical supervisor who helped me work through some issues with the school system onboarding process, but after that, I barely heard from her. The next year, I got a new clinical supervisor, and we spoke once.
Also, the only PTO I received was 4 sick days each year. Working in a school setting, especially in the final years of the COVID pandemic, 4 days was grossly insufficient. One bout with COVID early in my second year left me with no choice but to take unpaid time off for the rest of the year whenever I was sick or needed to go to a doctor's appointment during the day.
