Pros
Being a reporter, digging up stories that inform, educate and entertain the public was simply one of the best jobs a person could have. Never a dull moment. Often would get to work on multiple projects and figure out different ways to serving content to readers. That's about all there is to say about that.
Cons
No support from editors, who are pushed to slap up "news" as quickly as possible. Rarely would we get time to really develop a story. The job doesn't end when you leave the newsroom. Expect calls from editors late into the evening, or being called in the middle of the night to find out if something someone heard on TV really happened. The training this place offered was basically an editor yelling about why couldn't you find more minorities to include in a story, or why couldn't you find an opposing view when you went to a political rally, or why can't you get someone to tell you something that could cost them their job. Basically, why aren't you like reporters in the movies. I'll tell you why, because those people aren't real.
