With the amount of partnerships The Tennessean has around town, the opportunities and networking ability you have as an employee are huge. Great place to grow, especially as a recent grad. Huge kickstart to your career.

Cons

It is an ever-changing industry, which means that job security is not the highest.

Do to Gannett cutting local journalism as much as it possibly can, the newsroom was stretched thin, meaning I got to do impressive assignments that should have gone to more senior staff if such existed. The Tennessean is the best newspaper in Nashville and will propel you to better future gigs. Use this as a stepping stone.

Cons

The pay is insulting and you will be overworked.
