Pros

-Employees and Manager are fun to work around -You literally design people's dream Kitchen/Bath/ Etc. -Great benefits

Cons

-Ghost promotions...New title, same pay -A lot of downtime (7am-10am, 6pm-9pm, plus a lot between those times) -Company refuses to advertise. Will only do it when sales staff is deep into subsidy and 60% of the store is about to get fired for lack of sales due to lack of customers. -Managers are just glorified sales people with no actual management experience. -No pay for cleaning a large showroom. You have these tasks nightly. If you are cleaning while a customer walks in, you have likely missed your only opportunity to sell for the day. -Warehouse work. Lifting 80lbs plus on a regular basis in a dirty warehouse while wearing A SHIRT AND TIE. Have fun with your dry cleaning bill and repeatedly buying new clothes because the ones you have get ruined. -This one is for the customers. I cannot fathom being a contractor and going into a beautiful store like The Tile Shop has, and consistently get greeted by new staff because the store does not have enough customers to support an over inflated sales staff. You will constantly get people who have no idea what they are talking about because the training is nothing more than a few days of a manager reading papers to you and then you taking tests. It is no wonder I have seen contractors leave and go to the competition.

Pros

There's a system to follow and it's an open ceiling to how much you can make.

Cons

The only con I came across over the years, is candidates lying on their resume's and wasn't willing to be coachable because they thought they knew everything.

Pros

Some of the floor staff are great people to work with.

Cons

The core issue here is a management culture that has completely decayed. It is an "old school" environment in the worst way possible—rigid, out of touch, and fueled by greed. There are blatant double standards where leadership expects total flexibility and "hustle" from staff, but offers zero support or fair treatment in return. The focus is entirely on the bottom line at the expense of employee morale. It feels like the company is stuck in a bygone era, refusing to modernize its approach to work-life balance or fair compensation. Career growth feels stagnant unless you fit into their specific "inner circle."
