Pros
Most co workers are nice. A lot of the providers I work with are excellent.
Cons
Poor management. Lack of appropriate pay increases. They force you to write your own yearly reviews and if you don't they give you a poor rating on your review and blame you because you didn't do your part regardless of the quality of your work performance. Merit raises are not based on actual job performance. Excessive online training modules that you can never get caught up with and have no bearing on your actual work. No longer provides BLS training classes. Forces you to participate in RQI training with a CPR simulation mannequin on a quarterly basis. You never know where the mannequin is going to be because it gets moved around to various worksites and there is never a memo or email to inform you of where the mannequin will be next. You are forced to travel to the hospital campus in Canandaigua regardless of where you work, but you can't do it on the days you work so you are forced to waste your days off doing CPR training. Management takes no responsibility for anything. They constantly deflect and make it your fault if something is wrong even if it isn't your fault. They don't provide adequate equipment to do your job. Blood pressure cuffs are always breaking or go missing. Equipment breaks and is not replaced. They take years sometimes to address issues with employees who aren't doing their job or are bullying their co workers. We are constantly understaffed and there is a revolving door of nurses. Thompson has no clue how to retain decent employees. The training is horrible, there is no organisation to how new nurses are precepted. They have people training new employees who are not qualified to do so.
