Pros

Working from home was really great when you need to go to the run errands midday. If you have a supportive and knowledgable manager then it's great place to work.

Cons

I started at Thomson Legal before the merger with Reuters and benefits were great and you received annual increases more than 1%. After the merger everything went to the pits. Constant restructuring, layoffs, and general confusion about who worked with what product made it hard to do your job. Management never gave all information about the market when a new product was being launched, this made selling very hard, as you would visit customers and find out there were 30 other products on the market that did it better than your new product. There is an amazing lack of diversity in Legal, from Eagan to the field. Very few sales reps of color and not a lot of options for advancement. The health insurance is awful compared to other companies. If you are a field-based employee then you don't have a lot of options for advancement. It's really depressing when HR tells you that they are aware that management is a problem and they can't do anything.

Pros

Great environment and people. Lots of overtime available and bonuses during busy season.

Cons

I really enjoyed this job so the only con I can think of is that it is seasonal.

Pros

Plenty of wonderful benefits and the most competitive parental leave I have found in the US job market

Cons

Depending on the organization you work within, you could be working for leadership that expects sales reps to smooth over and fix every single mistake that is made. A lot of these mistakes are because they haven't yet recovered from acquiring new companies and they haven't absorbed CRMs and data correctly. There are many different teams to work with to get the simplest projects done. It feels like the companies values are really in place because they expect the employees to take responsibility for their lack of systems in place supporting them.
